I had eight dining chairs that needed re-upholstering. The material was very tired, the seat squabs had sunk and you could feel the wooden frame under your thighs. Had it not been for the substantial oak frames (with an ‘H’ between all four legs) then it would have been the tip. They also had a high back with a little roll – the type that was fashionable a few years ago. SWUS lowered the chairs by about 5″, sorted out the springs (some of which had become detached), replaced the foam and fitted new material. First class friendly service, great choice of materials – samples of which we were able to borrow, superb workmanship and fair price – I even have spare material for another chair in case of accidents!

We are thoroughly delighted with the extensive rehupholstery to our two sofas undertaken by SWUS. We asked Debbie to recover both sofas. After they removed the old upholstery, it was evident the sofas were structurally in a far worse condition than thought. Undeterred, Debbie assured us they could restructure the frame and then reupholster and cover the sofas in the fabric of our choice, which under Debbie’s guidance we sought from elsewhere. The transformation to both sofas is way beyond our expectation. Through their expert craftsmanship we now have fantastic sofas which are better than anything you could buy from the high street. Not only do they look amazing but the way in which they have ostensibly been rebuilt and strengthened means they will last a lifetime. They collected the sofas and Debbie kept us informed throughout the process with regular updates and photos until a couple of weeks later they delivered them back. SWUS provided us with a truly professional and friendly service and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Not only is their work superb, but they are extremely competitively priced too. They were considerably cheaper than the well known national company who regularly advertise on day time TV and in the Sunday paper supplements. Debbie and her team at SWUS recently completed a set of new cushions for our boat. The results are spectacular! We are so pleased with the finished results. The work included supplying new foam cushions with removable covers and was extremely competitive on price. Making new cushions for a boat is not an easy task as they require many curves to fit the bunks and the curve of the hull. The fit of the new cushions was perfect, a tribute to the care taken by Debbie and her team.

SWUS – expert quality upholstery service. Debbie at SWUS (South West Upholstery Services) was friendly, helpful and an expert in getting our loved Arts and Crafts set of 6 dining chairs restored to their full glory. They started off with some horrible fake leather studded coverings and now they are covered in beautifully aporopriate ‘Strawberry Thief’ fabric that brings out the colour of the wood. The fabric was placed perfectly so the 6 chairs match beautifully. She selected a braid that enhanced the fabric and wood tones perfectly. Piping around the back corners is another quality detail that has made me very happy. Great firm bases mean these chairs will last a long time. A quality 5 star job. Thank you Debbie and SWUS.
